1000 Evidences
for
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Parts 1 & 2

Foreword

This collection of evidences is designed for all readers. For the active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it presents documented evidences to enrich their testimonies. It gives substance to those who have taken for granted that the Church is true. For investigators, it provides resource material that will help lead to a testimony. The array of evidence will stimulate the minds of those who have been indifferent. Skeptics, who are open-minded enough to review the material, will find it difficult if not impossible to explain away the great weight of evidence. And it will answer charges of those who have openly criticized the Church.

The evidences presented in these volumes clearly demonstrate that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the same Church that Jesus Christ organized in the meridian of time. Each argument by itself will be convincing to some. However, none will be able to deny the truthfulness of the Church when the evidences are considered as a whole.

This compilation does not claim to contain all available evidences. Since new evidences for the Church are being discovered on a daily basis, this work represents only a portion of the thousands of available evidences. Nor does this work profess to be an in-depth study. Entire volumes have probed the depths of single issues that are only lightly touched upon in this work. However, the authors believe the wealth of evidence presents a broad enough perspective to provide an overall understanding of the strength of the LDS position.

Many interpretations, conclusions and opinions associated with this work are those of the authors, and not necessarily those of any organization with which the authors are affiliated, but are based on years of research. In an effort to leave no stone unturned, the authors have spent thousands of hours in research, and have sincerely considered the works of not only those who are sympathetic with the Church, but also those who are critical of it. Scholars, ministers of other religions, and anti-Mormon writers have been consulted in depth.

This work draws upon many discoveries, findings and conclusions of scientists and scholars. The compilers determined the validity and applicability of the evidence presented. Official sanction of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not suggested nor implied. The official doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is found in four standard works of Holy Scripture. They include:

1. The Holy Bible-King James Version, (a collection of books containing revelations received by prophets of the “Old World”-consisting of the Old and New Testaments of Jesus Christ).

2. The Book of Mormon-Another Testament of Jesus Christ, (a collection of books of revelation received by inspired prophets of the “New World”-between 2200 BC and 400 AD).

3. The Doctrine and Covenants of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and

4. The Pearl of Great Price (are both revelations and instruction received by inspired prophets of the “Latter-days” as well as ancient times).
