Allen H. Richardson was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand and has held many other Church callings, including the high council, stake mission president, Sunday School presidency, Young Men's presidency, teacher of various adult and youth classes, and is presently serving in the bishopric.
He also served eight years on the curriculum committee of the church, helping to write many manuals and reference books.
Allen has used many of the concepts presented in these volumes to assist in the conversion of many people including active critics of the church and an evangelical minister.
Allen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in speech and drama from the University of Utah and a Masters degree in English education from Utah State University.
He has taught speech, drama, journalism, art, English, history, and religion in the secondary grade levels for the past 30 years.
Three of those years were spent in the Islands of Tonga, where he was instrumental in the conversion of the first thirteen members of the church from the Gilbert Islands,
who were attending school in Tonga.
Allen is also an artist; his works include landscapes, portraits, and murals for two chapels.
He illustrated four volumes for W. Cleon Skousen, and draws caricatures professionally.
He is also an actor, having performed in plays at the Pioneer Memorial Theater, and three movies, including the later version of “Brigham Young.”
Allen’s second book is called Prelude to the Dawn-an historical novel about the early struggles of the pilgrims searching for religious freedom.
Allen and his wife Lana are the parents of eight children, and have three grandchildren.
